We all know that the Mouth is the window to body’s health and for that, we must follow good oral hygiene which helps us stay fit and healthy.

    Oral health is more than what you think, and it doesn’t just give you an attractive smile, but it also keeps you healthy throughout the life. If you are not taking enough care of your mouth, then you will start experiencing many health-related issues in the near future.

    What’s the connection between the Oral Health and Overall Health?  

    Our Mouth is full of bacteria of different types from which, most of them are harmless and helps food to digest fast. However, there are some bacteria which are very harmful. If you are unable to remove such bacteria from your mouth, it will reside forever in your mouth. Gradually, you will start noticing different types of issues in your mouth including bad breaths, bleeding from the gums, teeth shaking, etc.  

    Daily Oral Health starts with simple brushing and flossing of your teeth daily. Yes, you don’t need to do any other activities or buying any expensive tools for the same. All you have to do is, just follow the right brushing and flossing techniques which help you removing bacteria and leftover food particles from your mouth and teeth.  

    Without proper Oral Health, Bacteria can reach a level that might lead to various health issues. Many tooth-related problems such as plagues, gum disease will start developing in your mouth.

    In some cases, bacteria reduce the production of saliva in the mouth. Saliva is very important to keep your mouth and teeth cleaned. When your mouth doesn’t produce enough saliva, more bacteria and food particles will reside on the surface of your teeth which can be very dangerous for the health of your teeth.  

    Just to give you the right information about maintaining and protecting your Oral Health, here we have enlisted a few things which you should keep in mind. By practicing good Oral hygiene every day, you can live a happy and healthy life with your loved ones. Once you gain enough knowledge about Oral Hygiene and its benefits, you can also ask your family members and friends to follow the same to keep their health right as well.  

    How can I Protect my Oral Health?  

    1# – Brushing your teeth thoroughly  

    Most people brush their teeth every morning; however, they don’t brush up well. Over 80% of people finish cleaning in less than 2 minutes. If you really want to take care of your teeth, then you should brush your teeth twice every day. Spend at least 5 minutes in the process and brush your teeth thoroughly.  

    #2 – Use Fluoride Toothpaste

    Most dentists recommend their patients to use toothpaste which contains fluoride. This ingredient is very essential to keep bacteria and harmful germs away from your mouth.  

    #3 – Floss Daily

    Flossing removes leftover food particles in between your teeth. You should floss daily after every meal. If you don’t have enough time, you should floss every night before bed.  

    #4 – Eat Healthy Diet

    There are many types of food and drinks we consume which are entirely unhealthy for our overall health and oral health. You should limit such foods and beverages which are not healthy. Your dentist can advise you more about the same.  

    #5 – Regular Dental Checkups

    You should prepare a dental checkup schedule for yourself and your family members. Most people avoid visiting dental clinics. However, it is good for the health of your teeth and your overall health.
